Hi!

You've reached 66.92.15.102, known lovingly to dns everywhere as b.armory.com, l.armory.com, boogeyman.armory.com, and littlegreenmen.armory.com.

This is an open shell account server run by CERisE, a sometimes-Linux-kernel-hack who decided a long time ago that quad Pentium-3 Xeons at 500 MHz were just too much for any one reasonable human to use.

So, you too can request an account by ssh-ing here as account request. Windows users can do so by googling for PuTTY. [See left pane. --Ed.] Others can ssh b.armory.com -l request. There's no password, but there is a short qaire. What can I say? BBS habits are hard to break.

An account here (among other things) gives you telnet/ssh/ftp access, some web space, an email account, and a place to post yet another .plan for the few random people who still use finger. If you happen to have a domain, it's no trouble to add a virtual host to redirect to your account. boogeyman also runs djbdns, so if you need a DNS server to answer back to an address, I can be talked into adding an entry here.

I do monitor the system closely, so if you believe you've just found a spam haven, you'll be in for a rude awakening.

Among other things, I've taken a policy of blacklisting some IP addresses which launch dictionary attacks or other offending net traffic here. You'll only be able to see me on ports 25, 80, and 443 (smtp, http, and https). If you seem to have fallen prey to my blacklist, send me an email: cerise at yadda-yadda-yadda.

Of course, I've been blacklisting spam IPs as well. So it's quite possible that only 80 and 443 will be open to you. If you happen to have some really good reason, send me mail from some other machine so I'll actually get it. Failing that, ssh as request at d.armory.com. spcecdt might be merciful enough to give you an account, but expect a taunting first.

All that aside, if you're a neat person, you'll fit right in. Most people mesg y, so talk and write are usable. Join the community, chat with random people, and enjoy 8)

We did not invent the algorithm. The algorithm constantly finds Jesus. The algorithm killed Jeeves. The algorithm is banned in China. The algorithm is from Jersey. This is not the algorithm. This is close.
